Sunny Holidays' modest beginnings started in 1987, as a travel agency in Golden Mile complex, Beach Road, organising coach tours to Thailand. We have always made service and professionalism our top priority. So much so, that we became the first in Singapore to conceptualise and introduce the Super VIP sleeper-coach to Thailand.

First-class feeling

Not only could our passengers sleep comfortably throughout the long journey on reclining seats that doubled up as beds, we had professional hostesses to pamper them with blankets, pillows, movies… and even hot suppers and breakfasts!

It was like flying first-class, our clients told us.

These tours proved even more popular among Singaporeans when Sunny Holidays incorporated its coach-air mode of travel to Thailand into these packages. Bookings multiplied three-folds!

But the novelty, of course, soon died off after 3 years, as even this concept of travel - our own hybrid prototype - eventually found its way into other agencies' tour books. Even the juggernauts were copying us.

However, try as they might, there was still one area they couldn't match: Our service.and professionalism. Largely because Sunny Holidays engages only highly qualified and professionally-trained consultants.

Cruising in Singapore

In the mid-90s, Sunny Holidays ventured into the Cruise business after being appointed a wholesaler for Star Cruises in Singapore. The chemistry of Sunny Holidays' eight-year experience in the travel industry with Star Cruises' renowned expertise in the hotel business was remarkable. It was an instant success formula!

Cruising in Thailand

In 1996, Star Cruises officially initiated an agreement with Sunny Holidays to introduce and pioneer cruising to the Thai tourist market.

Sunny Holidays set up a company, Star Holidays, in Bangkok for this purpose. Many press conferences were conducted for the Thai media. Numerous newspaper articles were written and television programme produced about Star Cruises. Road-shows were organised to further educate the Thai public on the pleasures of cruising.

Training seminars were organised for the travel agents in Thailand. Subsequently, Star Cruises' office was set up in Bangkok occupying 3 floors of office space at the Bangkok Union Insurance Building at Silom Road. And, before long, Star Cruises became a household name throughout Thailand.

That having been established, Sunny Holidays now had the length and breadth of Thailand at its command for Singapore travellers. And what better way to further capture the Thai tourist trade than by specialising in air packages to all parts of Thailand.

Bangkok, Phuket, Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Hatyai, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Kanchanaburi, Koh Samui ...The list goes on.

'Mix-n-match'

Not only that. Customised packages were also incorporated into our tour programmes. In other words, we could even cater to those clients who wanted to break away from the traditional itineraries and do something different.

Like, say, if a couple wants a self-planned tour not listed in our travel brochure, we can still tailor-make one just for the two of them. Now, how many travel agencies will be able to do that for you? With more than 200 flexible itineraries covering every nook and corner of Thailand, we can "mix-n-match" a personalised programme to meet every budget.
